You as the controller, CFO, office manager, dealer or General Manager have a login that enables you to find out who is doing which tasks suggested by Sandi Jerome Computer Consulting. You can add additional tasks to get a complete look at your dealership. Using the Search panel on the left, you can filter and see;
1. Do we have people with skill levels of C and B – performing too many A tasks that anyone could do?
2. Do we have A level people performing C and B tasks that they might not be qualified to do?
3. Are there any tasks past due (in red?)
4. What are the tasks I – or my staff need to perform today (Due Date?)
5. What are the suggestions (Tips) that Sandi Jerome Computer Consulting has on performing this task easier and better and the files she recommends that you use?
6. Who is the Backup person that needs training to take over as the Assigned To person?
Manager Task View (taskmv)
These are the 300+ tasks that we brought in for your from DealerStar Tasks. You can add your own tasks or delete any. If you want to add them back in again, use Find Unassigned Tasks and select to add again. This view shows the Tips on how to perform the task from Sandi Jerome Computer Consulting. You cannot change these tips, but with the Plus version you can add your own “How to” instructions and attach files. As a suggestion, put in Assigned to the person who is currently doing this and in the Backup Person, put the person you would like to train and eventually assign this task to. Filter in the Search Panel on the Backup Person to find those that need training and the tasks. Use the buttons at the top to update your Daily to tomorrow or Weekly to next week, and Monthly to next Month.
My Tasks (taskv) – This shows all the tasks that have been assigned to you. You cannot add and delete any of these tasks that your manager assigned to you; but can delete any Tasks that you added. Use the buttons at the top to update your Daily to tomorrow or Weekly to next week, and Monthly to next Month.

Assign Users (taskuserv)
This lets you add users and their email address, so you can remind them to perform their tasks and email you back that they did.
Find Unassigned Tasks (DealerStar Tasksnottaskv) – This shows all the tasks from DealerStar Tasks and lets you bring back in any of the 300+ tasks from us that you might have deleted. This view shows the Tips on how to perform the task from Sandi Jerome Computer Consulting.
You might be working from a list of all your staff members and what they do – but it is easiest to FIRST work from our list of 300+ tasks and make sure someone is performing that task. After you complete that, then start adding your tasks that were not in our list that might be specific to your dealership (for example, get the owner's dog groomed each Tuesday.) You can delete any of the tasks that we brought in for you. If you want to put them back in

Multi-Store – Easily change dealerships if you work on more than one store. If you have this special access, you can also see all the Tasks for all the dealerships for your Client.
You staff monitors their own Tasks and Due Dates, creating “Done” notes and attaching files for storage. Let's say that you have an Office manager who reconciles the bank monthly. This manager would reconcile it and then attach an Excel spreadsheet with the “Done” note. Anytime in the future, you can log in and look at the reconciliation and determine if it was done correctly. Your auditors can also be given access and they can review the information. You and your staff can also add your own “HowTo” notes and files to DealerStar Tasks to document how tasks are performed at your dealership.
Becoming a Task-based Accounting Office
Step 1- Watch the tutorials. Both you and your staff should watch these.
Step 2 – Add your Users – Setup. They will automatically be setup as TMClerks.
Step 3 - Using the Manager View, Assign the Tasks to your staff (they are all assigned to you on installation.) Having DealerStar Tasks means that you now have a documentation, evaluation, archiving and training system for your office staff. We don’t recommend that you start adding more Tasks until you have already assigned all the 300+ tasks that come with DealerStar Tasks. That prevents duplicates later. Delete any that don’t apply to your dealership – you can always Copy then in again (notice Yellow Assigned To column in Setup.)
Step 4 – Starting using DealerStar Tasks. A new “A” skill level person can start reading the Learn -Tips of B and C tasks to see if they are ready to learn more and move to a B or C level person. You can start paying a bonus – or determine their current pay level by their skill level and the amount of each task they perform.
Each staff person can start updating the How To tab to explain how they perform their Tasks.
Both the setup and training of your staff might require a consultant and we have someone that can come to your dealership to reallocate tasks based on skill levels, train your staff to use DealerStar Tasks daily, weekly, and monthly, and help them get your “HowTo” files completed.
